Tempus Fugit

These works continue my exploration of nineteenth-century Orientalist photography. Such photographs were often taken with an anthropological lens and romanticised their subjects.

I’m interested in the way portraiture can make those past become present, and the way the distance of time can romanticise the subjects further.
